2.1. Sleeves

Introduction 

It is a part of a garment that covers the arm or through which the arm passes or slips

2.2. Pockets

Introduction 

A pocket is either fastened or inserted in an article of clothing to hold small items

3. Garment construction techniques

STITCHES 

A loop of thread from the movement of needle in sewing, knitting or crotcheting 

Classification 

Temporary stitches

3.1. Control of fullness

Definition - Control of fullness is a method done to shape a garment 

It also aids in garment finishing 

Types of control of fullness

Dartstriangular folds which shapes a fabric to natural curves of the body

Tucks-a fold in a fabric which is stitched down to add fullness to the garment

Pleats-folds in a garment done to the waistline of skirts, yokes and sleeves at equal distance to release fullness

Gathers-used to distribute fullness in a given area 

Shirring-formed with multiple rows of gathering and is primarily a decorative way of controlling fullness

3.2. Seams

Definition - a method of joining two pieces of a fabric together
